Shondra moved to Las Vegas in 1990. In July of 1993, she took a life changing position as judicial assistant to the Honorable Addeliar D. Guy, III (deceased), Two weeks later, she was introduced to her husband, Karl Armstrong. They were married in October of 1994.
Shondra is the proud mother of three sons: Brandon, Dexter and Kieran. The same values of honesty, integrity and community that are important to Shondra and Karl have been instilled in their sons.
Since moving to Assembley District 6 in 1999, Shondra has been a member of the West Las Vegas Plan Team, a commissioner on the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, and a commissioner on the Southern Nevada Enterprise Community Board. She is a 24 year employee of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC). Shondra is an Executive Board Member of SEIU Local 1107 and serves as Chief Steward at the RTC.
